HP interns wins global contest

Kris Jiraruangkiat Wins Hearts and Minds—and an OMEN

The HP Insiders contest offered a hint to outsiders about how life at HP looks from our interns’ perspective.

Big congratulations to Kris Jiraruangkiat of HP Thailand, who won the HP Insiders competition sponsored by Shane Wall, our chief technology officer. Shane Wall (CTO) and the crew invited graduate and intern hires from all of HP’s sites around the world to compete for social media influence, showcasing HP’s inventions and highlighting stellar work behind the scenes.

Five new employees launched their HP careers by building and enhancing their personal brands, developing social media buzz, and competing to win a Spectre or an OMEN.

Kris did an outstanding job sharing his experiences, and together the contestants—including Borja from Spain, Rachel and Kasey from the USA, and Ernesto from Mexico—reached almost 200,000 people. Incredible!

Kris said, “Participating in the HP Insiders contest was very exciting and it was a great opportunity for me to showcase what it’s like to be an intern at HP. As someone who aspired to work in the IT industry, my time as an intern with HP Thailand has been a wonderful experience, learning and working about things I’m interested in. I learned that it’s crucial to have a network of people to reach out to. And it’s also very important that you are brave enough to reach out to them.”

Great job, Kris—and enjoy that OMEN!
