Every day at HP, distinguished veterans who built an outstanding career in the Military, are exploring cutting-edge uses for technology and applying their training and skills in their jobs. Nothing fills us with greater pride than to support our veterans in building successful business careers. The following are a few testimonials from HP’s Military Veterans who have been doing some of their life’s best work with us:
Martin describes his lifelong efforts to amplify representation for Hispanic and Latino communities.
Contributed by Martin Stier, Global Head of Human Resources, Imaging and Printing Solutions.
Like many Hispanic and Latino families, mine had a big European influence. My grandparents left Germany in late 1938 and were among the few fortunate Jewish families welcomed in Argentina, a country that like many other South American countries, was a refuge for Jewish families fleeing World War II.
I was born, raised, and educated in Buenos Aires, learning since childhood how to live through and overcome the challenges of belonging to a minority. I can remember not being excused for being absent at school due to Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year celebration, while my friends were excused for their important Catholic celebrations.
Technology and innovation take a huge part in how I experience my work on a daily basis. Working in a global team at HP I get to connect every day with people that are miles away from me, thanks to the tools that engineers built in the past and continue to improve every day.
For the past few months, I’ve been lucky enough to connect with Engineers at HP who are building the newest, most amazing pieces of technology and applying it to make the most out of our human experiences and needs.
And the most exciting part of my job is being able to tell their stories, while learning how they create products that improve life for everyone, everywhere.
Oh, the fall! How can anyone not love it? With its magical autumn weather, beautiful sunsets, and lovely landscapes all around. It’s also a time to start planning ahead, thinking about the future, about the next moves, paths, and steps we’ll take to wrap up the year and start the next one where we want to be.
